Well, I sure didn't see that coming. However, I'm pretty sure that no one saw an August US deficit of $380,000,000,000 coming, either. That cold slap to face brought about a Keynesian reality check and the Comex PMs were bid all the way through the weekly close.

Another reasonably dull day today with a sharp selloff following the CPI but then a gradual rebound as a recovery in the stonk market helped to drive a bid in all "risk assets" like commodities.

So, since it was a mostly uneventful session, I thought I'd keep the podcast short today...

It was a mostly quiet day but it was a mostly productive day, too, with the Comex PMs managing to reclaim about half of their losses from Friday. Tomorrow may be quiet, as well, ahead of a busy Wednesday-Friday.

Both Comex precious metals bounced back today and both are now slightly green on the week. That's nice. It's also meaningless when you consider that tomorrow is another BLSBS Friday and the fate of how sizable Jerry's first rate cut will be hangs in the balance.
