On the topic of (re)building society and groups using scientific principles

The full post referencing knowledge about complex adaptive systems is: Designing efficient societies. What works from a scientific point of view. The summery is below:

If someone promises something without specifying the consequences if they don’t deliver, consider asking them, “or else what?” until they come up with a specific natural consequence that you agree with. Ask for it in writing. If the writing is not readable, say no deal until that contract is readable. “Power is never granted, only taken”, and adding a feedback loop is 1 way to do it peacefully.

Focus on doing what you love to do and are good at. Do all you say you will do, don’t encroach on others or their stuff (Richard Maybury), and make amends for the inevitable mistakes. Define what is valuable to you and trade your valuable stuff (time, brain, body) only by mutual agreement with other competent entities. You can defend your stuff and not take on others’ stuff.

3 areas rarely set up correctly:

MoneyNEVER, EVER let others’ control a money supply by fiat. Use only competing currencies. Make no laws about what, and how, people "should" value things.

Voting - Current forms of voting are inefficient, and “…vulnerable to strategic manipulation...”mainly due to very weak feedback loops. So,

  • 30 days before the election, candidates compete by indicating via written efficient contract what they will do, or else (which goes into escrow if monetary).
  • Candidates are titled “contracted organizers” or “organizers” if elected.
  • Residents indicate who they pick by depositing 0 to 100 ounces of silver publicly in escrow. (It would be best if the resident could vote 0-10% of net worth, but resident’s net worth is none of a town’s business.)
  • Each ounce of silver is one vote.
  • Results are visible only after voting closes.
  • If their organizer had to make amends of say 1,000 ounces of silver, escrow would remove that amount from the cumulative amount of that organizers voters.
  • If voters do not re-fund their escrow account, that is the maximum they can “vote” next election.

Scope of action - (money, projection of power). Decisions are vastly more effective locally because, “Elements in the system are ignorant of the behaviour of the system as a whole responding only to what is available to it locally.” Therefore, efficient taxes are collected only once, locally, and at the point of sale. They are spent at the level of the tax, and/or 1(one) level away.
