Anonymity Online...Tor Browser Download Free and Startpage search engine

A lot of people are talking about control of the internet and the spying that is most definitely going on by our NSA, CIA, and seemingly everyone else out there. Cut them off by using Tor and Startpage.

What is Tor?

Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security known as traffic analysis

Why Anonymity Matters

Tor protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, and it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location. Tor works with many of your existing applications, including web browsers, instant messaging clients, remote login, and other applications based on the TCP protocol.

Check out and use the free Tor browser below. It blocks your IP address and runs you through mirror networks all over the world while masking your IP address.

Link to download the browser takes just a couple minutes:

I use it and it works great. Yes, you will notice a bit of slowness due to the latency associated with connecting to servers outside of the U.S., etc. But it really isn't slow at all and becomes negligible the more you get used to it. Plus, if privacy matters to you then a slight bit of slowness isn't a problem at all.

Also...instead of using Google or any other search engines anymore please dump them all and just use Startpage:

https://startpage.com/

Startpage is the world's most private search engine that uses Google as it's proxy, so you can use it to search things privately and still get the benefit of Google's massive amount of information anonymously. Read more below and make Startpage your default search engine from now on. Works great.

Startpage Protects Your Privacy!

Startpage, and its sister search engine Ixquick, are the only third-party certified search engines in the world that do not record your IP address or track your searches.

Your privacy is under attack!

Every time you use a regular search engine, your search data is recorded. Major search engines capture your IP address and use tracking cookies to make a record of your search terms, the time of your visit, and the links you choose - then they store that information in a giant database.

Those searches reveal a shocking amount of personal information about you, such as your interests, family circumstances, political leanings, medical conditions, and more. This information is modern-day gold for marketers, government officials, black-hat hackers and criminals - all of whom would love to get their hands on your private search data.

Why should you worry?

Major search engines have quietly amassed the largest database of personal information on individuals ever collected. Unfortunately, this data can all too easily fall into the wrong hands. Consider the following story:

In August 2006, the online world was jarred when AOL accidentally released three months' worth of aggregated search data from 650,000 of its users, publishing all the details in an online database.
That database is still searchable. It is an absolute eye-opener to see the potential for privacy nightmares.

Shocked? You are not alone. When we search, we share our most private thoughts with our computers.
These private thoughts should be safe.

Startpage's position:

Image cannot be displayed You have a right to privacy.
Image cannot be displayed Your search data should never fall into the wrong hands.
Image cannot be displayed The only real solution is quickly deleting your data or not storing them to begin with.
Image cannot be displayed Since January 2009 we do not record our users' IP addresses anymore.
Image cannot be displayed We are the first and only search engine to do so.
Image cannot be displayed Our initiative is receiving an overwhelmingly positive response!

Startpage will wholeheartedly continue on its mission to offer you great search results in the best possible privacy!

Anyways...just thought I'd share these in case anyone was interested in privacy and hadn't heard of them yet. Enjoy and keep stacking folks!!!
