Well, at least Comex option expiration is behind us for another month and tomorrow is scheduled for a quiet news day. Whether or not it turns out that way is another matter.

It was a busy week for the Comex PMs but it was also a very constructive week as CDG found support at the old resistance line and CDS continued its bounce from the lows of two weeks ago. Next week will be busy, too, with Comex option expiration and more economic data so please give this podcast...

Yours truly is finally reunited with his MacBook and microphone and now it's time to play catch up. As such, today we need to summarize the week that has already been and look ahead to Jhole Friday and all that Jerry might...or might not...say.

It was a busy day and I found myself behind schedule for a numbers of reasons. As such, let's simply take stock of where we are after a historic end to a great week.

Historic? Really? Yes, I think that's the right way to put it. Both Comex Digital and Spot gold closed today at all-time...

We survived a day that looked pretty shaky for a while this morning. In the end, though, nearly the entire commodity finished in the green with CDS up over a dollar! So what happens tomorrow and how will we end the week? Come on in and let's talk about it.

After two days of capping price via contract issuance and naked shorting, The Banks rang the register today by rigging price lower again from the top of the current range. As such, this fifth attempt at a breakout has failed for the time being. Who knows? Perhaps the sixth attempt will fail,...

It was an unusual day for August...a month that is often remembered for dull, listless, AlgoHell trading where small moves in bonds and/or the POSX make for outsized moves in CDG and CDS. Today was different, however, as the Comex PMs were muted as rates and POSX fell sharply.

Could...

In a move that was the complete opposite of last Monday, the new week began with a substantial UP tick in both CDG and CDS. But just as with last week...and all weeks, for that matter...it's not how you begin the week that matters. With this in mind, there's still 96 hours to go before we paint...

If I'd told you back on Monday that Comex gold would finish UP on the week, I'm not sure you'd have believed me. Heck, I'm not sure I'd have believed myself! But it did. So now we look forward to next week with the same old pending uncertainty and daily economic datapoints.

After the terrible end to Wednesday's trading in almost all markets, it seemed logical to be concerned that today would be terrible, too. Nope. Everything turned out just fine...which is nice. However, given the way things have gone this week, there can be no assurances that tomorrow will also...
